The National Low Income Housing Coalition has published a new report on the shortage of affordable rental homes, finding, among other things, that no state has an adequate supply of affordable rental housing for the lowest income renters, and that the US has an estimated shortage of 7 million rental homes affordable and available to extremely low-income renters overall.
