The following is a statement from All Home Founder and CEO, Tomiquia Moss.
“The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is a devastating setback for the movement to end homelessness and poverty in America.
“In order for women and their families to thrive, women need to be able to make fundamental decisions for themselves about whether and when to have a child. And let me be clear that when I talk about women and their families, I’m talking about every neighborhood and community in this country. We know that many of the women who will be forced to bear children against their wishes will be poor, will be immigrants, will be women of color, will hold other marginalized identities. This will be another barrier in their path to self-determination and opportunity, to the detriment of our entire society.
“If anti-abortion activists truly cared about every life, they would support common sense gun laws and funding for affordable housing, universal health care and universal pre-k, paid family leave, and expansion of the Child Tax Credit. These are the solutions that save lives.”
