In collaboration with local community-based organizations, this program will provide under-represented groups equitable access to environmental education and workforce training, aligning with the expressed needs of disadvantaged communities. Specifically, the project will:
- Deploy four new nature-based curricula and accredited certificates, all tailored to meet the demands of key industry sectors with employer support at REAP Climate Center facilities;
- Enhance Regenerative Labs on the REAP campus by completing the development of minimum viable workshops;
- Launch courses with targeted participants through Greenbelt Alliance, Pacific Coast Community Services and REAP Climate Center’s extensive networks;
- Incorporate a holistic approach to professional development through DiSC Assessments, resumè-writing workshops, interview training, job search coaching, and education in workplace self-advocacy; and
- Implement a system to evaluate the impact of the training on students at six months and one year after completion, ensuring long-term success and curriculum adjustment as needed.
Catalyst funding enables this transformative project to progress, making strides towards an equitable and regenerative regional economy.
